近年来各式各样的综艺节目越来越多，选秀节目一个接一个，《创造101》、《青春有你》、《少年之名》、《乘风破浪的姐姐》……就连央视也开始搞选秀节目了。今天我们就一起来看看“综艺节目”、“真人秀”等英文怎么说吧。
- 综艺节目 variety show
综艺综艺，就是综合各种艺术形式，综艺节目通常具有娱乐性，给观众带来欢乐。variety 是 several different sorts of the same thing （同一事物的）不同种类，多种式样。所以在英文中，综艺节目就是 variety show。
据说中国综艺节目的鼻祖是1990年在央视开播的《正大综艺》，这档节目的英文名就是 Zhengda Variety Show。
2. 选秀节目 talent show
选秀节目就是通过演出、比赛等形式选拔出优秀的选手，在节目上各位选手都要展示自己的才艺。talent 就是“天赋、才艺”的意思，所以选秀节目就是 talent show。
3. 真人秀 reality show
真人秀就是真人参加的秀哈哈， reality show，好像没什么好讲的。
4. 育儿节目 parenting program
育儿节目就是将父母带娃的真实生活展现在观众面前，这类节目不仅可以记录孩子的成长，也给观众一种陪伴萌娃成长的“云养儿”体验，被萌娃治愈的同时还能从节目中学到育儿方法。parenting 作为名词是“养育、抚养”，因此育儿节目就是 parenting program。
5. 脱口秀 talk show
脱口秀就是 talk show。不过这里要特别讲一下《吐槽大会》和《脱口秀大会》。《吐槽大会》的英文名是 Roast，为什么呢？
原来 roast 有“严厉批评”的意思，和“吐槽”有点相似。而在 urban dictionary 中的解释更为贴切：
To humorously mock or humiliate someone with a well-timed joke, diss or comeback. 用恰到好处的笑话来嘲弄、羞辱、奚落或反驳某人。
所以可以理解《吐槽大会》为什么叫 Roast 了，而节目中的吐槽者就是 roaster，吐槽对象就是 roastee。最近热播的《脱口秀大会》的英文名是 Rock and Roast，应该是改自短语 rock and roll。
6. 纪实类节目 fly-on-the-wall
还有一种综艺节目是观察明星的日常生活，比如《我家那闺女》系列的，还有刚刚提到的育儿节目也是纪实类，这种一般叫做 fly-on-the-wall television programme。它的英文解释是：a fly-on-the-wall television programme shows people's daily lives in a very natural way, because they forget that they are being filmed。
说完了各种综艺节目，下面我们来看看跟节目相关的一些词汇：
播出
一般说节目“播出”用 air，它的含义是 to broadcast a programme on the radio or on television; to be broadcast 播出；播送。例：
The show will be aired next Tuesday night. 这个节目将在下周二夜间播出。
短语 on / off the air 就是“在播/停播”的意思，例：
We will be back on air tomorrow morning at 7. 明天早上 7 点本节目重新开播
The programme was taken off the air over the summer. 这个节目在夏季里停播。
直播
直播就是 live streaming，比如《乘风破浪的姐姐》成团夜直播：The last show of the program Sisters Who Make Waves live streamed on Friday night.
反之“录播”就是录好再播，record and play。“剪辑”就是 edit 或 post-edit。
收视率
收视率是 viewing rate 或 audience rating，收视率高，可以说 highest rated 或 most watched。例：
At the peak of the French World Cup finals, NHK raked up a 60% audience rating. 在法国世界杯决赛阶段的巅峰时期，NHK获得了60%的收视率。
It's one of the most watched U.S. television events. 这是美国收视率最高的节目之一。
口碑
口碑通常是 word of mouth 或 public praise。例：
Another way TikTok differs from big American social media apps, which largely grew through word of mouth, is that its expansion didn't happen entirely through the magic of viral marketing. TikTok与美国大型社交媒体应用的不同之处还在于，它主要是靠口碑传播，并不是完全借助网络营销的魔力。
The best promotion around an art-house film, in my opinion, is spreading its reputation by word of mouth.
我认为传播艺术电影最好的途径就是通过口碑。
